One of the most popular features at the OPPD Arboretum was in danger of extinction, but a local business stepped up to help bring it back to life.
This past fall, a big problem was discovered within the koi pond, fed by a tiered waterfall system. There was a serious leak. So, orange fencing was put up to block off the area.
“With no means to keep the water level up within the pond, and with the lack of a heater, we had no way to keep the koi fish there over the winter,” said OPPD Forester Mike Norris.
