Facts about your power service in a flood situation

The OPPD service territory remains in a flood watch or warning. Flooding continues in rivers and tributaries, including the Platte, Elkhorn and Missouri rivers. There are some things to remember about electrical service should your home be impacted by the flooding.

When law enforcement and emergency management personnel evacuate communities they can also request that OPPD shut off power as a safety precaution. In these areas, OPPD will not be able to turn power back on until flooding subsides. Law enforcement must also deem it safe to return to these neighborhoods and perform safety inspections.

If power outages occur in areas that are not impacted by flooding, OPPD asks customers to please report outages either online or by calling 800-554-6773. Travel in some areas may be restrictive due to flooding and could impact accessibility for OPPD crews.
