Stormy weather pattern brings outage potential

12 p.m., Sept. 10, 2019

After lightening heavy thunderstorms that knocked out power out to nearly 2,000 OPPD customers at one point last night, our crews are bracing for the chance of more stormy weather tonight. Forecasters say the highest potential for storms is between the hours of 1 a.m. and 8 a.m.

There are steps you can take to prepare for power outages, such as keeping cell phones and tablets fully charged ahead of a storm., and making sure you have a flashlight within reach as you go to bed.

If you experience a service disruption, please be sure to report it to OPPD so that we are aware and can respond. You can do so online or by calling 1-800-554-OPPD.

In the event of significant outages, we will report information and updates here, as we receive them from our crews.
