Stormy weather pattern brings outage potential

Sept. 11, 2019

We could see more thunderstorms in our service territory overnight, with the greatest potential between the hours of 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., according to forecasters. These storms are expected to linger throughout the morning Thursday, with wind gusts of up to 40 or 50 miles an hour possible at times. Stronger storms may stay to the north and east of our area. But they cannot be ruled out here.

This week’s stormy weather pattern brings the potential for power outages. There are steps you can take to prepare, in case you lose power. Keep cell phones and tablets fully charged ahead of a storm, so you can report any service disruptions to OPPD.¬†You can do so online or by calling 1-800-554-OPPD.

In the event of significant outages, we will report information and updates here, as we receive them from our crews.
