Trees tangle with wires, causing southwest Omaha outage

OPPD crews removed tree limbs from the power lines and made repairs to restore power in southwest Omaha. Power was restored at 4:02 p.m. About 1,300 customers were impacted around 3 p.m. today in an area from Shirley to C streets, 120th  to 132nd streets.

Tree interference with power lines is a common outage cause, and today’s winds may have played a role.

A tree got tangled with power line this afternoon, causing 1,300 southwest Omaha customers to lose power. The impacted area runs from Shirley to C streets, 120th  to 132nd streets. Crews expect to make repairs within the hour.
