Friday, Jan. 10 – 5:30 p.m.
Winter has returned with snowfall and winds up to 30 mph. If this wintry mix causes power outages, please report them to OPPD. The more information we have, the better job we can do making restoration.
9:45 a.m. weather alert – The National Weather (NWS) is cautioning that a heavy-snow band could develop this afternoon into the evening for parts of the OPPD service territory.
An inch to 4 inches is possible for the Omaha area, with heavier amounts south of Interstate 80. That area could also see accumulations up to .25 inches as freezing rain and sleet are also possible.
The combination of snow and strong winds could make for hazardous road conditions and reduced visibility. With these conditions, galloping lines and power outages are possible.
