Downtown Omaha power outage

3 p.m.

OPPD personnel have resolved this outage, except for three transformers in the affected area. The estimated restoration time for customers served by those transformers is 7 p.m.

The cause of this outage was failure of an underground power cable.

1:45 p.m.

OPPD troubleshooters are on the site of the outage, and switching circuits has restored power to the majority of the affected customers in an area bound by Leavenworth Street and Poppleton Avenue and 27th Street and 21st Street.

The remaining customers without power have an estimated restoration time of 2:30 p.m.

12:20 p.m., June 11, 2020

More than 1,300 customers are currently without power in downtown Omaha. The circuit serving them locked out at 11:55 a.m. Those impacted are between Harney St. and Pierce St., from 18th St. to 27th St.

Our troubleshooters are responding, but have not yet determined the cause. We are hoping to be able to restore power within the next couple of hours, barring any unexpected difficulties.

We thank our customers for their patience while we work to bring the lights back on. We will post updates here as we learn more.
