All storm-related outages restored

7:30 p.m., July 16

As of 7:15 p.m., there were approximately 52 outages in our service territory. We are pleased to say that  none of these are related to last weekend’s storm. ALL storm-related outages have been restored.

OPPD crews are still working on a number of clean-up activities and will be doing so tomorrow, as well.

We are so grateful for our customers’ patience, understanding, and support of our crews in this past week. Thank you for helping us weather this historic outage event together.

4:45 p.m.

OPPD exceeded its Friday goal of 99.5% restoration for those customers left without power following the powerful July 10 wind event. As of 4:45 p.m., 163 customers remained without power. Most of these remaining outages began Monday, July 12, as an after-effect of the storm, due to previously weakened trees and branches giving way.

We still have more than 900 workers in the field from OPPD and mutual aid support organizations. These “boots on the ground” range from damage assessment and downed wire crews to tree crews and line techs. They are all needed for the remaining work, which is complex and time-consuming.

Our crews will not let up until the work is done.

If you are still without power: We want to be sure you’re not left in the dark. Please report your outage, even if you’ve previously reported it, on oppd.com, via the OPPDConnect mobile app, or by calling 800-554-6773.

11 a.m.

Those customers without power has dropped to 384 customers at this time. As these numbers continue to fall, OPPD needs your help.

Outage numbers from the July 10 storm have fallen well below the overnight goal. They now total 539 customers.

But as restoration improves, the pace of work does not slow down. Instead the work becomes more time-intensive. Crews are seeing repairs in some locations taking up to nine hours. This is due to extensive tree damage around homes and yards, and needing to individually repair transformers and house service lines.

Below is a graphic that details what repairs homeowners are responsible for and what OPPD will repair. You can also find more information here.
