Power restored to customers in western Omaha

OPPD troubleshooters have restored power to the 1,902 customers who were affected by an outage in western Omaha.

The outage was caused by a vehicle that hit a guy wire connected to a pole. The impact shook the pole and caused the damage that knocked out power. Troubleshooters repaired the damage and restored power to all customers at 7:40 p.m.

OPPD crews are responding to a power outage affecting 1,902 customers in western Omaha.

The outage, which started at 6:47 p.m., is believed to have been caused by an SUV that hit a power pole at 84th and Frederick Street, knocking down wires. Trouble shooters will verify the cause once they arrive.

The affected area is encompassed by West Center Road to the north, F Street to the south, 72nd Street to the east and Paddock Road to the west.

We don’t yet have an estimated time to restore power, but will provide updates as soon as they’re available.
