Sarpy County outage caused by critter in switch gear

Crews were able to restore power at 11:54 a.m.

This morning’s outage was caused by a critter getting into some equipment and should be resolved soon, barring an unforeseen incidents.

10:57 a.m.

Our work crews are on their way to investigate a power outage that is affecting 2,426 customers in Sarpy County.

The outage began with circuit lockouts at two neighboring substations, covering neighborhoods in the Papillion and Springfield area.

One of the outages is affecting 1,527 customers in an area roughly bordered by Applewood Drive to the north, 60th Street to the east, 111st Street to the west and the Platte River to the south.

The other substation outage is an area bordered approximately by Cedardale Road to the north, Ponderosa Drive to the south, 60th Street to the east and 84th Street to the west. That outage is affecting 899 customers.

We estimate that power will be restored by noon, barring any unforeseen developments.
