7:49 a.m., April 15, 2023 Our crews continue to restore outages from last night’s storm. Nearly 100 customers are still without power.

10:45 p.m., April 14, 2023 We have received a growing number of reports of power outages in Douglas County, as well now, with approximately 750 outages in total througout our service territory at this time. Our crews continue to respond as quickly as they can, while maintaining safety. Many individual repairs are needed, and that takes some time. We thank our customers for their patience as we work to troubleshoot and restore power.

9:40 p.m. OPPD crews are responding to more than 700 scattered power outages right now due to this evening’s thunderstorms. The counties most impacted are Washington (272 outages) and Pawnee (268). Johnson, Cass and Pottawattamie Counties each have several dozen customers without power at this time.
OPPD planned for this weather by ensuring extra crews are on duty for restoration efforts, and they’re working hard to make needed repairs as quickly as safely possible in this weather. 2 p.m. According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms are likely for most of our service territory tonight, starting after 6 p.m. Widely scattered severe storms, capable of up to ping-pong ball-sized hail and damaging wind gusts of up to 65 to 75 mph are possible up until midnight. Locations south of Columbus, Neb., to Onawa, Iowa, are most likely to be impacted.
