Southwest Omaha power outage

8:58 a.m. Power was restored to customers in southwest Omaha at 8:46 a.m. The cause of the outage was a failed lightning arrestor on a utility pole.

8:30 a.m. Our troubleshooters found the problem — a utility pole at 97th & Q had a component that failed. Crews are hoping to have power restored by 9 a.m., barring any unforeseen problems.

8:10 a.m. OPPD troubleshooters are investigating the cause of a power outage that began at 7:09 a.m., impacting 1,936  customers in southwest Omaha. Those affected are between F St. and Y St., from 94th St. to 104th St.

We do not yet have an estimated restoration time, but we hope to have more information to pass along shortly.
