Circuit outages

5 p.m., July 10, 2024

As of 3:32 p.m., power was restored to all customers impacted by a circuit outage in Bellevue.  Our outage map has not yet updated to reflect this restoration.

The cause was equipment failure. Repairs have been made and we do not anticipate any further problems in this area. Thanks to our customers for their patience as we worked to figure out the cause and bring power back.

3 p.m.  We’re glad to report that the northwest Omaha power outage was restored as of 2:48 p.m. It was caused by a cut underground cable on the north side of Maple St. at 138th St.

However, OPPD is responding to a separate power outage now, this one impacting Bellevue.  A circuit serving 1,807 customers locked out at 2:40 p.m. The customers affected are between Faulk Ave. and Quail Dr., from 48th St. to 25th Ave. We do not yet know the cause but will provide more details here as we learn them.

2:12 p.m. We have unconfirmed reports that the outage in northwest Omaha may have been caused by a construction crew hitting an underground power line. Our troubleshooters are investigating further. Our crews are hoping to restore power by 3 p.m., barring any unexpected challenges. We will continue to post updates as we learn more.

1:25 p.m.  OPPD troubleshooters are responding to a power outage impacting 1,279 customers in northwest Omaha. The outage began at 1:21 p.m. within the boundaries of Meredith Ave. to the north and Blondo St. to the south, between 150th Ave. and 126th Plz.

We will provide updates here as we learn more.
