Power outage in west Omaha

1:50 p.m., July 18, 2024

Repairs to the circuit are taking longer than expected. We are now estimating restoration by 3:00 p.m., barring any more unforeseen challenges. We are sorry for the inconvenience as we work the issues impacting power in this area. We are working as quickly as safely possible to bring electricity back.

8 a.m.

OPPD crews are working to restore to more than 100 customers still without power in west Omaha after the circuit that serves them locked out last night at 11:36 p.m.

Initially, 1005 customers were without power between Farnam St. and West Center Rd., from 168th St. to 150th St. Troubleshooters were dispatched and ultimately found a bad switch. They replaced the switch and restored power at 6 a.m.; however, the new switch is having problems, so our crews are conducting more testing to determine the underlying issue.

At this time, we anticipate having power restored to all by 11 a.m. We know this is tough for these customers to be without power this long. Thank you for your patience while we work through these repairs.
