Update on west Omaha power outage

10 p.m.

OPPD has restored power to all customers affected by this evening’s power outage in west Omaha.

The affected area was roughly bordered by Stony Brook Boulevard to the north, Giles Road to the south, 137th Avenue to the east and 156th Street to the west.

8:10 p.m.

OPPD has identified the cause of the west Omaha outage and is working to restore customers as quickly as possible.

Workers patrolled the circuit and found no obvious damage, but then discovered a cable theft in the area. We’re working to fix that issue and are tentatively aiming to have power restored by 9 p.m., barring any unforeseen developments. Thank you for your patience.

OPPD workers are responding to an outage in western Omaha affecting 2,055 customers.

We haven’t yet identified a cause but will provide more information as soon as we know. The affected area is roughly bordered by Stony Brook Boulevard to the north, Giles Road to the south, 137th Avenue to the east and 156th Street to the west.

We’ve set a tentative estimated restoration time of 8 p.m., barring any unforeseen developments.
