Overnight storms caused some power outages in our service territory. At this time, 50 customers are still without power. Most of these customers are in Douglas County, but several are in Cass County.

Many of these outages were tied to a circuit serving customers in the greater Ralston area. That circuit, serving 1,391 customers between Burlington St. (north) and Parkview Blvd. (south), between 72nd and 84th St., was locked out between 7:36 a.m. and 8:57 a.m. The cause was a transformer failure and pole fire.

Tree interference with power lines caused another circuit lockout in northwest Omaha between 2:58 a.m. and 5:02 a.m., impacting 1,121 customers.  Customers were impacted within the boundaries of Bedford Ave. (north) and Hamilton Ave. (south), from 88th St. to 109th St.

Another circuit lockout knocked out power to 1,594 customers between Blair High Rd. and Sprague St., from 91st Ave. to 108th St. This outage was also caused by tree limbs making contact with power lines. It lasted from 3:34 a.m. to 4:37 a.m.

Our crews continue work to make the necessary repairs to restore power to those still impacted in Douglas and Cass Counties. If you are without power and have not reported the service disruption, please do so online or by calling 1-800-554-OPPD (6773), so that we are aware and can respond.
