OPPD restores power to customers affected by outage

12:45 p.m.

OPPD has restored power to the 1,130 Omaha customers affected by an outage.

Troubleshooters restored power at 12:37 p.m., about half an hour after the outage began. A passing truck near 120th and West Center Road snagged a guy wire and flipped the wire into an overhead 3-phase, causing the outage.

OPPD is on its way to investigate a power outage affecting 1,130 customers in Omaha.

The outage includes an area bordered roughly by Hickory Street to the north, Howe Street to the south, 112th Street to the east and 126th Street to the west. Two OPPD troubleshooters are headed to the area now.

We estimate that power could be restored by around 2 p.m., barring any unforeseen developments or circumstances. We’ll post more information as soon as it’s available.
