Western Douglas County Power Outage

7:28 a.m., Sept. 12, 2024

Power was restored to all but 119 customers at 1:18 a.m. Power was restored to the remaining customers at 7:04 a.m,

The cause of this outage was animal interference with electrical equipment.

11:51 p.m., Sept. 11, 2024

Our crews are still trying to determine the cause of the power outage in Western Douglas County. Right now, we do not have an estimated time of restoration. But we’ll keep working until we find and fix the issue. We’ll post an update on these efforts as needed in the morning.

10:20 p.m. – Troubleshooters are on their way to investigate a power outage that’s impacting more than 1,000 customers in Western Douglas County.  It started just before 10 p.m.

Those impacted are between Bennington Rd. and the Elkhorn River, between 264th Ave. and Skyline Dr.

We do not yet know the cause, but we will provide updates here as we know more.

7:30 p.m. – Power was restored to all impacted customers from the below Southwest Omaha power outage shortly after 7 p.m.

5:20 p.m. – Our team found a broken piece of equipment that caused this outage. They are making repairs now and hope to have power restored by 7 p.m., barring any unforeseen challenges.

4:52 p.m. – OPPD troubleshooters are investigating a circuit lockout, which began at 4:08 p.m., in southwest Omaha. We have approximately 2,500 customers without power between Howe St. to Harrison St., from 132nd St. to 116th St.

We do not yet know the cause but will report back here when we have more information from our crews.
